Flexibility, community, and being online: one Millennial’s approach to running a business

Millennials are notorious for leading adamantly flexible lifestyles. They were also the first generation to get online as kids. Maeva Cifuentes will talk about how she uses her generation’s most characteristic features as benefits to running her business and her personal life. She’ll share her techniques for managing time, being present on social media, and maintaining a local community while traveling.

Maeva Cifuentes is a French and Spanish to English translator and copywriter. She runs her business on the go, spending half of the month in Barcelona and traveling the rest of the time. When in Barcelona, she runs a Facebook group for translators where she organizes monthly informal get-togethers and co-working days.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

APTIC-MET MEETINGS

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Sharing ideas, creating synergies between language professionals, sharing experiences, meeting colleagues, having a good time away from work and the computer but close to translation and surrounded by people who share our profession and our passion.

The meetings organised by APTIC and MET are now an established reference point for meeting colleagues from the profession in a relaxed environment. The aim is to share experiences, meet new people and approach the sector in a different way.

This activity is open to all language professionals, regardless of whether they belong to one of the two associations. We also hope the meetings will publicise our associations to other professionals.
